ISSOTL PRE- CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Pre-Conference Workshops will be held on Thursday, October 20.  You can download the schedule for titles, presenters, and times, and can sign up on the registration form.  If you have already registered, simply sign in to edit your registration.  For questions about workshop registration, contact Melissa Kocias at iuconfs@indiana.edu.

Wednesday, October 19th – Excursion:  $40 per person (due the day of the tour)
For those of you who are coming to Milwaukee early – we have scheduled an excursion which should be a lot of fun!
Experience Milwaukee through this walking tour of one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods.  This is a fun walk along the Milwaukee River, close to the conference hotel.

River walk – Old World 3rd St. Walking/Food Tour
Milwaukee's spanning River Walk, located in the vibrant Milwaukee neighborhood of Westown, includes a stop (or two) featuring rich German culture and food on historic Old World 3rd Street... but that's only the beginning on this tour where old traditions meet delicious new delights!

This tour offers authentic German food tastings as well as an opportunity to eat, drink and socialize your way into newer establishments in the area. Sample Milwaukee's oldest microbrewery complete with a visit to their Beer Memorabilia collection with one-of-a-kind beer and brewing artifacts while sipping on Milwaukee-brewed beer; schlemiel and schlimazel your way across the Milwaukee River to visit The Fonz; fine on fantastic foods and more!

And unlike many of our other tours, this route allows for shopping - splurge along the way and buy local treasures at a local cheese store, sausage store, spice house and more!

Our tour concludes as we tip our hat to 007, ending at a unique underground establishment where, if desired, you can spend additional time after your food tour is complete. And hey, if we're nice, we might even give you the top-secret password to get into the joint.

KEY DETAILS:
Tour Length – Approximately 1.2 miles along Milwaukee’s River Walk, with plenty of walking breaks and opportunities to sit down along the way. We spend approximately 20 minutes at each restaurant.

Time Commitment
– Between 2 - 2.5 hours, depending on the pace of the group

Parting Gift: All tours conclude with the sweet note of chocolate. Each attendee will also receive a take-home packet of spices so that they can bring the taste of Milwaukee into their own kitchen.

If you are interested in participating in this River Walk, please send Lisa Kornetsky (local arrangements) an email (kornetsk@uwp.edu) by WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2011 so that we can get a ‘count’ to give to the tour organizers.

LETTER OF INVITATION/LETTER CONFIRMING REGISTRATION
If you need a letter confirming your registration or confirming your invitation to present, this can be provided.  Letters will only be issued after you have been selected to present AND after you have registered and paid conference registration fees.  If you need a letter, please follow the instructions on the Visa Letter Request page at: https://www.confmanager.com/main.cfm?cid=2125&nid=14027.    Once we have received your request, we will verify your registration and payment of fees and will issue a PDF signed letter.

CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
You may cancel your registration and receive a full refund, less $50.00 administrative handling fee, any time prior to October 1, 2011.  Email your request for cancellation to the Conference Registrar at:  iuconfs@indiana.edu.  No refunds will be granted after October 1st.
