Session Chair Information

Session Chair Information  
We have identified the lead author of the third paper of each concurrent session as Session Chair. In the program, each Chair has an asterisk next to his or her session number. For panel presentations, workshops, and roundtables, the presenters will designate their own Session Chair.
The following information will help you prepare for your session.
As Session Chair, your responsibilities include:

  • Identifying a computer for your session on which all presentations will be loaded.
    We ask all presenters to bring their presentations on a flash drive. It will be your responsibility to contact presenters in your session; identify one computer among the presenters on which all presentations will be loaded and make arrangements to meet and load presentations before the session start time. No computers will be provided by the conference.
  • Introducing presenters by name, affiliation, and title of presentation at the beginning of the session.
  • Monitoring presentation time. Each presenter has been allotted a total of 30 minutes for presentation, Q&A and discussion at the end. In order for the session to run smoothly and for all presenters to have equal time, it is imperative that you enforce a time limit of 30 minutes each. We suggest that you make it very clear to each presenter before the session begins that you will strictly adhere to the 30 minute time limit and will interrupt should they exceed their limit.
  • Facilitate discussion at the end of the session.

Additional Notes:

  • Each session room will be equipped with an LCD projector and screen
  • Each session room will be equipped with a house phone. For any problems please dial 0 and let the operator know what you need and they will reach the proper department.
